The California Peplum

Have you checked out the Bundle UP promo over at Pattern Revolution?  It is a really great deal, 11 patterns you can snag for up to 60% off.  Tomorrow is the last day to buy the patterns in the bundle then they go up to regular price.

I picked up all the patterns in the bundle and have already sewn up two of them.  Last week I shared the Bay dress I made Em and today I am sharing another Bundle Up pattern, The California Dress and Peplum by EYMM.

I think this cute little shirt is perfect for summer!  It is made out of knit and has an elastic casing at the waist.

I love sewing with knit for my daughter, it is quick and easy to sew with and best of all it doesn’t have to be ironed when it comes out of the wash like all of the woven garments I make her! This pattern shows you how to do a really great binding techinque for the neck and arm holes, I think I will be using it for a lot more of my knit projects!

For this dress, I used some ice green stripe knit I got at Girl Charlee, I tried to find it on their site but it looks like they don’t have it anymore :(  It was some left over fabric from a dress Imade for me that I shared over at Pattern Revolution.

One really cool feature of this pattern is it is reversible!  You can either do the scoop neck in the front like I have pictured or you can do the faux halter side in the front.  That is perfect for when my husband dresses her, he has a hard time figuring out the clothes I make her sometimes…I should probably start adding tags.

I paired her shirt with the Small Fry Skinny Jeans I made her a while back.  I love these pants and am so happy they still fit!  She seems to be growing up more than out at this point so I think she may still get to wear these for a while.

This girl…she is such a ham.  I can’t even imagine the headaches she has in store for us in the future!

Another super awesome thing about this pattern…it is coming out in women’s sizes!  I got to test the women’s California, which is coming very soon, and made this cute dress! I am hoping I have enough of that green I used for Em's to make myself a shirt like hers too.

Thanks for stopping by!  Make sure you go buy your bundle before the sale ends tomorrow!
